Getting started
From WUUki
- Download WUU and unpack it to a directory of your choice (if you're using OS X or Linux you might have to install Python and/or wxPython too)
- When you first start WUU, you'll be asked to select your WoW directory (unless the default is correct). Select the directory that contains your WoW.exe/World of Warcraft.app, NOT your AddOns-directory. This setting will be saved in the file settings.wurm.xml in %USERPROFILE%\WUU, ~/.wuu/ or ~/Library/WUU when the program exits normally.
- Scan your addons directory by using Addon → Scan from the menu, or hitting Ctrl-D - this will populate the list with your addons (they'll all be marked as [Unknown] at this point)
- Set up the source sites by updating with the master list (Addon → Update with online database) - hit Ctrl-D (or Addon → Scan) once more when it's done to refresh the list (at this point, most of your addons should have "?" in the local version number, and be marked with a light red color - WUU uses different version numbers than the mod authors, so the local versions will be unknown until you've updated the addon once in WUU),
- Check what versions are available online by using Addon → Check online version or hitting Ctrl-V - please wait until it's done with all your addons before continuing.
- Either select addons to update individually (multiple addons can be selected by using Shift or Ctrl) and hit the Update button, or update all addons by using Addon → Upgrade all (or Ctrl-U) - WUU will then download and extract the newest version of the addons.
- Consult the WUU FAQ to see how to deal with addons marked as [Unknown] still
