Manual addon setup
From WUUki
- First, bring up the addon settings by rightclicking on the addon in the list:
- The "friendly name" is only used for OtherSites at the moment, but the original intention with it was to have a name to show in the GUI other than the directory name ("Scrolling Combat Text" instead of "sct", for instance). It defaults to the directory name.
- In "source site" you select where you want to get the addon from, and fill in "site ID" accordingly (as of 1.1.170, WUU will try to look up the site ID online, so filling it in might not be necessary). I'll explain each site:
- [Unknown] is the default, and does nothing.
- [Ignore] is currently equivalent to [Unknown], but can be hidden by the option in the View-menu. (I set all Blizzard_*-addons to ignore)
- [ Dummy ] is for sub-addons that shouldn't be installed
- [Outdated] is currently equivalent to [Ignore], but can be hidden separately by the option in the View-menu. It's meant to be used on addons that will never be updated again (surpassed by other addons, for instance).
- [Related] is a "special case" [Ignore], for those addons that come bundled with others - set all the folders that come with the main addon to [Related], and set their site ID to the directory name of the main addon. Example: TitanRider has site ID Titan (This site ID isn't used at the moment, but might be in the future)
- WoWAce is for syncing addons with http://www.wowace.com/files/ - the Site ID should be the same as the addon directory name.
- WoWI is for syncing addons with http://www.wowinterface.com/ - the Site ID is the numeric code from the site plus the directory name - example for Minimalist, the Site ID is "5001-Minimalist" (without the quotes)
- CurseGaming is for syncing addons with http://www.curse-gaming.com/ - the Site ID is the part after "details/" in the url, minus the last "/" - example for Cryolysis, the Site ID is "3425/cryolysis" (without the quotes). As of WUU 1.4.320: Site ID is now ONLY the number (for Cryolysis mentioned above, you use "3425") As of WUU 1.8.595: Site ID now seems to be only the name (so, for our continuing example, "cryolysis").
- Auctioneer is for syncing addons with http://auctioneeraddon.com/ - the Site ID is the name of the folder, except for Auctioneer itself, where the name is "AuctioneerClassic" (or set the other folders to [Related] and use "AuctioneerFullSuite" - without the quotes)
- Gatherer is for syncing addons with http://gathereraddon.com/ - the Site ID is the name of the folder
- Cosmos is for syncing addons with http://cosmosui.org/ - the Site ID is the part after "f=" in the download URL, minus ".zip" - example for Free Bag Slots (http://www.cosmosui.org/download.php?t=addons&f=FreeBagSlots.zip), the site ID is "FreeBagSlots" (without the quotes)
- CTMod is for syncing addons with http://www.ctmod.net/ - the Site ID should be the same as the addon directory name.
- CapnBry is for syncing addons with http://capnbry.net/wow/ - the Site ID should be the same as the addon directory name.
- GoogleCode is for syncing addons with http://code.google.com/ - the Site ID is developer name. Example: "tekkub-wow"
- AceSVN is for syncing addons with http://svn.wowace.com/wowace - the Site ID is [branches|tags|trunk] followed by Addonname optionally followed by developer/version etc, examples: "branches/!!Warmup/ckknight", "tags/lern2count/1.12/lern2count_plugins/lern2count_bongos", "trunk/Zookeeper"
- OtherSites is for Addons which are not on any of the above Sites. It allows a high degree of control in selecting the Addon to download. See the linked page for more information.
